Many remember the era of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when QB Tom Brady took charge on the field. He led the Bucs to a Super Bowl LV championship in 2020, and his own record-breaking 7th Super Bowl title. But there is another former player for the Bucs who will be remembered for a long time by the fans because of his antics. After infamously abandoning his teammates in the middle of an NFL game last year, this particular player has not made a comeback into the NFL.

Now, after almost a year, this former WR of the Bucs took to social media to share an inspirational perspective related to personal decisions and choices in life.

AB’s inspirational words of wisdom

Former WR Antonio Brown was undoubtedly one of the best wide receivers of his generation. After Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Drafts, things looked promising for him in the NFL. But things went downhill for Brown with time, as controversies surrounded his life and performance. After the Bucs signed him in 2021, he went on to win his first Super Bowl with Tom Brady. After infamously storming out from a Bucs game with the New York Jets in January last year, Antonio Brown recently took to Twitter to share words of wisdom regarding personal choices.

“The moment you start questioning whether or not you deserve better, you do” is what the Tweet from Brown read. The tweet comes almost after a year of his exit from the NFL. Currently, he brought an ownership stake in the Arena Football League team, the Albany Empire. Apart from this, Brown is also focusing on his music career, pursuing his passion for rap. He even took up the role of President for Kanye West’s Donda Sports, staying in touch with the field of sports.

Brown’s exit from the NFL is not a classic example of a player retiring. Rather, it is one of the strangest exits of players from the league. What exactly happened a year ago with the Bucs?

Revisiting the meltdown and exit of Antonio Brown from the NFL

It was January 2, 2022. The Buccaneers were playing the Jets at MetLife Stadium. While the team was trailing 24-10 against the Jets in the third quarter, Brown removed his uniform and pads, after which he proceeded to walk off the field shirtless. He was waving to fans while making his way to the tunnel. After this tantrum by Brown, the Bucs cut him off from the roster. Former Bucs HC Bruce Arians stated that Brown was no longer a part of the team while speaking at the post-match conference. 

Since the incident, the WR has not made a comeback in the NFL and remains a free agent. While Antonio Brown pursues other aspects of his life, it will be interesting to see if he will return to the field once again in the coming days ahead.
