Home/NFL

Antonio Brown has never shied away from speaking his mind. He has always been the one of the more vocal and social players from the NFL. And when he went on the Shop, with ‘the king’ LeBron James, he did not hold back. On his radar came NFL’s Legendary Tight End Shannon Sharpe who has pivoted into a TV Sports Analyst. AB was clear that a career in commentating is not on his horizon. And rips Shannon Sharpe for being a “joke” and just trying to “make a buck.”

There are plenty of instances where the Tight End-turned Analyst has spoken at length about AB’s decisions on and off the field. Sharpe has been pretty vocal about his take on AB. Ever since Brown exited from his first team, Sharpe has opined his views on the controversial wide receiver. Sharpe regularly disagrees with AB’s antics and recently even berated him for delaying his ankle surgery.

Two Sides To Antonio Brown

Important to note that AB’s actions have themselves been open to scrutiny. Except for the incident in Tampa Bay, his other fallouts have been mostly self-driven. So maybe Shannon Sharpe is just speaking from experience.

And AB has lost out on a lot of money by not being part of a team regularly. That has to sting. But Brown’s larger point during his visit to the Shop is the need to do something after your sporting career is over. He points out that he won’t be part of the TV sports media circus.

AB poignantly points out that some of the things that NFL Legends have to do after retirement is just downright disrespectful. And that happens because players don’t set themselves up for a career after the NFL. Brown says, “You look at all the greatests, what are they doing now? Even like, uhh, Shannon Sharpe. Yeah, this guy’s the biggest joke. Bro like you wanna put Hennessy in the back. Then you gonna criticize me? Like, bro you a joke.”

Even Lebron James Refuses to be a Commentator

LeBron James is questioned by Antonio Brown about what his plans are after retirement. And the king quickly retorts, “I’m looking to entertain.” And the room breaks into laughter. Antonio Brown agrees to this. And from the looks of it, he has stayed true to his word. His new album is going to release today. Let us see what the fans think about it.

As far as his beef with Shannon Sharpe is concerned, another tangent to the story is Sharpe’s undying support of LeBron James. He is a die-hard LBJ fan and vehemently backs the king when the GOAT debate is on. His counterpart on the talk show, Skip Bayless is seen as the biggest Lebron hater on the other end. So it was definitely baller of Antonio Brown to speak so bluntly about Shannon Sharpe, in front of LBJ.
