Carolina Panthers are enduring a tough season, as they lost yet another game against the Rams on Sunday. Moreover, the Panthers fans saw one of the most extraordinary scenes, as the interim coach Steve Wilks sent wide receiver Robbie Anderson to the locker room after the third quarter. This incident reminded everyone of when former Bucs WR Antonio Brown left the field in the middle of the game.

Earlier in January this year, Brown left the Week 17 game between the Bucs and the Jets in the third quarter. After this, the Bucs terminated his contract, as no other NFL team signed him since then. It seems like Anderson may also suffer the same fate as Brown.

Robbie Anderson had an Antonio Brown-like moment during the Panthers vs Rams match-up

Earlier in the game, Robbie Anderson had a heated discussion with receivers coach Joe Dailey. At one point, Anderson went nose-to-nose with Dailey, as they continued their argument. Before that, Anderson was sitting away from the team, completely isolated.

The interim coach, Wilks, noticed this when Anderson said something to Dailey. Then, Wilks shouted at Dailey to stop the argument and sent Anderson to the locker room when the Panthers were trailing 17-10. Clearly, Anderson was not happy with that, as he was seen mouthing some words before heading back to the locker room.

After the game, Wilks didn’t want to talk about the Anderson situation, as he wanted to focus on the team rather than on one individual. However, Anderson spoke to reporters about the situation, as he said, “I’m here to do all I can to help us win… It’s third down, I’m being taken out the game. I don’t think I should be okay with that, you know what I’m sayin’? So, I made a comment. It’s money down. Why am I being taken out? And that’s that.”

As per reports, the Panthers were trying to offload Anderson and after this incident, it’s likely to happen pretty soon. Meanwhile, the Panthers are having a pretty bad season, as they recently fired their head coach Matt Rhule after some poor results. Since then, they put Steve Wilks in charge of the team. However, he also faced the same result, as the team suffered another loss. Currently, they are sitting at the bottom of the NFC South division with five losses and just one win.
