During his appearance on The Pivot Podcast, AB opens up about how he only ever cared about winning football games. While talking about his love for the game and addressing the large sums of money he was being offered, he said, “The Steelers made me rich. I had a $40 million deal in 2012, 2020 and I had a $70 million deal in 2017. So somebody seems to be counting my pockets.”
The talented wideout was claiming that the money was there for him, but he wanted to win before collecting his paychecks.

The wide receiver describes how he wanted to be a winner and did so by teaming up with former Buccaneers and Patriots QB Tom Brady. He did share his frustrations with how everyone was looking at him and wondering what decisions he was gonna make. AB always wanted his work to speak for him.
Was Antonio Brown all about the money?
The Steelers presented the 7-time Pro Bowler with a very lucrative contract which they mutually agreed and signed to make him the highest-paid WR. The contract eclipsed Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green’s 4-year, $60 million contract. Despite all the money, he was involving himself in clashes with teammates. Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and AB fought over his improper conduct and how AB was late to team meetings.
Head coach Mike Tomlin had let him continue his shenanigans because of his incredible output. But by 2018, his disruptive actions and heated arguments with teammates ultimately got him traded to the Raiders. Brown then had minor stints with the Patriots and later the Buccaneers while managing to win a Super Bowl title with the latter team.
