Antonio Brown isn’t exactly yearning for a return to the NFL. With his entrepreneurial side coming out after his final gridiron stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the possibility of a comeback dwindles with each passing day. However, that doesn’t stop AB from voicing his opinions on the harsh standards set by the league for him. And how those standards significantly diminish for the other wide receivers in the league. Yes, Brown’s latest tweet was in direct response to Odell Beckham Jr. signing a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Odell has been off the field since his 2022 Super Bowl injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. Brown thinks that there is a bigger conspiracy at work against him, especially because his numbers overshadow OBJ’s despite playing fewer games than the former Rams Lombardi winner.

Odell Beckham Jr. tore his ACL and took over a year to return. The past year, he had the opportunity to find a new team in the league. However, the injury concerns were still at large. With those worries at bay, the Ravens roped in the coveted free agent on a one-year deal amounting to up to $18 million, including $15 million in guaranteed pay. This could be aimed at strengthening their offensive unit. And also to arguably convince Lamar Jackson to stick around.

Antonio Brown hasn’t played in the NFL since his infamous episode of leaving the ground shirtless. This happened after head coach Todd Bowles sidelined him during the game. A heated altercation followed, and that was the last time NFL fans saw AB wearing a crimson pirate jersey. However, a Pittsburgh Steelers Insider shrewdly pointed out that Tom Brady’s former teammate wideout still boasts better numbers than Odell Beckham Jr.
Dale Lolley tweeted, “Since 2020, Odell Beckham has played in 21 games, has 67 catches for 856 yards with 8 TDs. Antonio Brown, since 2020, has played in 15 games with 87 catches for 1,028 yards and 8 TDs. The Ravens gave Beckham $18 million for that?”

Backup Ravens QB Tyler Huntley took charge of the Ravens’ offense when Lamar Jackson entered the injured reserve because of a PCL strain last season. And Huntley eventually made it to the Pro Bowl. Antonio thinks that the Baltimore ownership brought in OBJ to further the competition between Lamar and Tyler, with a star wide receiver available in the flanks now.
“I understand the ownership [made] this move out of spite. You see, they turned the backup QB into a pro bowler. Trying to play them against each other. Owners got jealousy too. Envy too. They human,” the Super Bowl LV champion retweeted.
Can Antonio Brown leave the controversial headlines behind to one day return to the NFL? And will Odell Beckham Jr. get to play out his days in purple and black with Action Jackson in the pocket?
