Crimson Tide signal-caller Bryce Young may get in a lot of trouble for what he has been up to, had the NFL been the equivalent of a marriage. The No. 1 draft pick prospect had dinner with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, only to meet another team the very next day. Woah, slow down, Bryce!
It’s the Las Vegas Raiders. The 2021 Heisman winner met the black and silver executives on Thursday, the same day that he is supposed to be throwing for NFL teams at his Alma Mater’s Pro Day. And even with a much worse pick in the draft, the Raiders are still very much in contention to land him.

Young’s was one of the most impressive shows at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month besides Ohio State’s CJ Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson. Alabama’s single-game passing yards record holder (559) chose to enter the draft this year, foregoing his senior year. And he wants to make good use of the choices he is being offered.

According to Mike Garafolo, the 21-year-old met the Panthers and the Raiders within a day of each other. Las Vegas was in the quarterback market after parting ways with Derek Carr at the end of the season. However, it still came as a shock since the Raiders signed former San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo at the start of the free agency. Is Jimmy G the decoy for the longtime future solution Bryce Young?
Following dinner with the #Panthers last night, Alabama QB Bryce Young met with the #Raiders ahead of his pro day today. Vegas currently holds the 7th pick in the NFL Draft.

Vegas has the 7th pick in this year’s draft. And that certainly complicates things for them since Bryce may be off the board by then. If they really want a long-term passing solution, they have no option but to trade up.
The Panthers can make things easier for Young
The draft game plan has been clear from the start for David Tepper and the Carolina Panthers. After going through four quarterbacks last season, they want someone for the long haul. The Panthers sent multiple picks and wideout DJ Moore to Chicago to grab hold of the 1st overall pick. And this gives them the plate to choose from.
According to Tom Pelissero, Tepper sent 30 Panthers executives to Buckeyes QB and fellow top draft prospect CJ Stroud’s throwing workout at the Ohio State Pro Day on Wednesday.

And after the drills were done, Stroud’s little chat with Panthers HC Frank Reich and quarterbacks coach Josh McCown almost put all doubts to rest about Carolina choosing CJ.

The Raiders still have to get up the selection order, as even if the Panthers let Bryce go, the Houston Texans may grab him with their second overall pick. With the sheer talent this year’s class presents, it’s hard to predict anyone’s future until the draft starts on April 27.
