Rita Smith spoke during a telephonic conversation on Friday, “I feel like he’s playing us. He’s saying exactly what he thinks he needs to say to get on the field again. He’s absolutely certain from that last statement ‘I’ve done nothing wrong. This is all about people trying to get at me, and I just want to go play ball.’”

Smith further claimed that such intensity is not conducive to future recidivism, and he remains a danger to others. The senior NFL advisor further called that he had done practically no self-reflection. There aren’t too many breaches recorded by people who aren’t doing anything unlawful.
