The Giants have angered OJ Simpson by making their star running back, Saquon Barkley, play on a $10,000,000 contract. The market value of running backs has plummeted, and this has outraged the veteran player Simpson. Barkley has no option but to play on this contract for the next season. The Giants and Barkley failed to reach a long-term deal before the deadline last Monday.

In 2021, the Giants exercised Barkley’s fifth-year option for 2022, which paid him $7.217 million. But now, as approaching the 2023 season, they still haven’t settled on a fair deal, so Barkley is slapped with a non-exclusive franchise tag. The 76-year-old former Running Back took to Twitter to blast the New York Giants for their treatment of Saquon Barkley, who he thinks is the best player on the roster. Simpson said that Barkley, who will turn 27 next year, deserves more respect and money than quarterback Daniel Jones, who just signed a four-year deal worth $160 million. “Saquon, really pissing me off because to me he is all that the Giants have.”

Simpson said in a video post. “Nobody goes to the games and see Daniel Jones. God bless you, Daniel. I’m happy you got your money, but he’s [Saquon] making a third of what he’s [Daniel] making.” O.J. Simpson indirectly suggests being overpaid with $160 million, he thinks Barkley is the star of the show for the Giants, who might not be seen playing further in the season as Barkley recently mentioned in an episode of ‘The Money Matters’ podcast on YouTube. As a result, Simpson wondered if their teams will give them long-term contracts next year, or just franchise tag them for $12 million. Giants management, Raiders management. I think you should be ashamed of yourself. I’m just saying,” Simpson said at the last, fearing that the players might get shortchanged and mistreated again.
