It also reveals that women are pickier than men when it comes to dating, as 75.2% of single men are reported to be picky, while 82.1% of women choose to stay out of approaching someone for the same cause. This data dubs the US as the ‘Kingdom of Singles’ with almost half of their citizen embracing the solo journey. It’s reported that 126.9 million people from the US were unattached in 2022, as per the US Census Bureau. The combined data of the whole world also indicates about 2.12 billion people from the country are single. And it’s only increasing day by day.

Then focus shifts to the demographic, showcasing how Black/African-Americans are with the highest single rate of 47%. Moreover, Hispanic and White/Caucasian are at 27% and 28% respectively.

The study concludes their detailed research with a few pointers on why people remain single, with some of them being insecurity, fear, sexuality, different priorities, and others.
