Coach Prime, as Deion Sanders is affectionately known, was ecstatic after the game and proudly declared, “I’ve got receipts. I’ve got all my receipts.” His message was clear – the Buffs had warned everyone that they were coming, and they had delivered on their promise. Coach Prime’s bold statement resonated with fans and players alike, with Chiefs DT Chris Jones reposting it and garnering nearly 30,000 hearts.

Fueling the Buffaloes by their exceptional performances were quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter. Shedeur Sanders set a school record with 510 passing yards and four touchdowns. On the other hand, Hunter made a significant impact on both offense and defense, with 11 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown, as well as a crucial interception on the goal line.

According to a report by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the team has offered Jones a three-year contract worth a whopping $74 million. Florio’s report reveals that a significant portion of the proposed contract, $70 million to be exact, would be guaranteed for injury. However, the exact breakdown of the guaranteed amount remains undisclosed at this time. This offer comes after previous reports by Sports Illustrated’s Greg Bishop. The report suggested that Jones was seeking an extension that would pay him around $30 million per season.

Despite Chiefs general manager Brett Veach acknowledging that Jones “deserves a big contract,” there is no indication that the two parties are close to reaching an agreement. Veach expressed hope that Jones would be present on the field when the Chiefs kick off their season on September 7 against the Detroit Lions. However, with Jones’s ongoing holdout and the fines he has already incurred, the situation remains uncertain.
