Aaron Rodgers has been in the league for almost two decades now. At 39, he is one of the oldest players that continue suiting up and slinging passes. Needless to say, with his advanced age, he has begun encountering players who looked up to him when they themselves were children. One such player that Rodgers has gone on to inspire is Madden cover athlete, Josh Allen.
In the past, Allen has gone on to mention his fondness for Old Man Rodgers and the kind of impact he has had on him. However, with the monumental shift of Rodgers coming to the same conference as Allen, Rodgers’ presence is going to pose a threat to the young QB as well as the Buffalo Bills.

Allen has maintained that a player like Rodgers has had a huge impact on his life. The Bills QB has mentioned how Rodgers inspired him as a little kid. And now that they’re playing in the same league, he considers Rodgers a friend. Per CBS Sports, he said, “I’ve gotten to know Aaron a little bit over the years, and I would consider us very close. I wouldn’t say we text on the regular. I don’t really call him, I FaceTime him. He usually answers, which is a big plus. I know he doesn’t answer a lot of people.”
However, even though Allen admires Rodgers, he is also holding on to some anticipation in playing against Rodgers. With Rodgers shifting to the same conference as him, they are scheduled to play against each other at least twice. Allen has mentioned how it will be difficult to face off against such a great QB. Interestingly, football is not the only place Allen has a bit of trouble against Rodgers. He faced Rodgers’ wrath even while they were playing golf together.

Allen and Rodgers’ golf battle
A lot of NFL players take part in various editions of the infamous Match. This consists of a star-studded golf game that pits all sorts of athletes against each other. One such edition was when Allen teamed up with Patrick Mahomes as they faced off against Tom Brady and Rodgers. Apparently, Rodgers did not hold back when it came to the trash talk against Allen. A-Rod went on to call Allen’s play of golf terrible. Ultimately, Allen and Mahomes were beaten brutally by a simple putt by none other than Rodgers.
All in all, Allen has received a lot of toughness from his idol, not just in football but also in golf. However, only time will tell how the regular season matchups between these two will work and who will emerge victorious.
