Back in 2016, Dak Prescott was seen as the successor to QB Tony Romo. The Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He got his chance as a QB1 for the Cowboys after Romo was injured in the preseason. In his rookie year, Dak Prescott went on to lead the Cowboys as the No.1 NFC division team, while setting many career records. He even won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and was seen as a QB who could lead the Cowboys to Super Bowl glory.
But despite leading the team to two divisional titles and two Pro Bowl appearances, the hunt for a Lombardi Trophy still continues for the Cowboys. And now, after seven years, Prescott may not be considered being the one who could help his team achieve Super Bowl glory, according to a former NFL player.
Is Dak Prescott past his prime?

The 29-year-old has been a consistent player for the Cowboys throughout the years. But ex-New York Giants star Plaxico Burress believes that Prescott may have reached his limit as a quarterback. Burress was the one who made the game-winning touchdown during their Super Bowl upset against the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

During a recent episode of the Carton Show, the retired WR opened up about how he does not see the Cowboys as a Super Bowl-winning team as long as they have Dak Prescott as their QB. He said, “I believe he’s reached his ceiling as a quarterback with the Dallas Cowboys. They can win but they won’t win a championship with him.” The 29-year-old Prescott still has a lot to offer, despite being more injury prone. But Burress does not seem to be ready to believe in the QB as a Super Bowl-winning formula for the Cowboys.
Amidst this heavy criticism, his own former teammate who recently signed with the Houston Texans, believes that there is a new 2023 QB draftee who could overtake the Cowboys star in the coming days.

Noah Brown believes the No.2 2023 NFL draft pick could be better than Prescott
Noah Brown played as Prescott’s pass-catcher during his six-year stint with the Cowboys. And this offseason, he went on to sign a one-year $2.26 million deal with the Texans. And he went on to state that he believes in his rookie QB CJ Stroud to become a QB better than Prescott in the coming days of ahead. Stroud was selected No.2 overall by the Texans in this year’s draft. And Brown seems to have a lot of faith in his rookie QB. According to SI and Pro Football Talk, Brown said, “They are both great quarterbacks-great arm talent.” While talking about Stroud, he said, “That’s a great class to be in. I think he has all the potential to live up to that, maybe even surpass it. So, you know, I’m rooting for CJ and I’m willing to have his back on anything.”
