Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, while searching for his next NFL team, seems to be making strides in another field. Kaepernick’s autobiographical book ‘I Color Myself Different’ debuted at No.83 on the USA Today’s Best Selling Book List. It was a result of the collaboration between Kaepernick’s own publishing company and Scholastic for a fascinating new project based on his life.
The Kaepernick Publishing company was founded in 2019 by the former NFL QB to spread his message. It began with an aim at elevating ‘a new generation of writers with diverse views and voices through the creation of powerful works of all genres that can build a better and more just world.’

His new project focuses on adoption, Black and brown love, and accepting ourselves and each other.
Kaepernick, while exploring his writing prowess has not yet abandoned his dream of returning to play in the NFL once again. Any return might also mark the end of nearly a 5-year absence from the pinnacle of American football. While he remains in wait, Kaepernick will be happy about his newest personal accomplishment away from the football field.
Colin Kaepernick has a lot of fight left in him
The former Niners QB remains in wait for a call-up after agreeing to be a backup QB for any interested NFL franchises. The revelation of this stance came during his appearance on the ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast. He believes that he only needs a solitary opportunity to show his worth and prove his capabilities to all his doubters.

He goes on to state, “I know I have to find my way back in. So, yeah, if I have to come in as a backup, that fine. But that’s not where I’m staying. And when I prove that I’m a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such.“
The fighting words from Kaepernick only seem to show his readiness to make a big splash whenever he gets his chance.

It is a curious case for the lack of any real urgency from teams to bring in a player with Kaepernick’s skills and abilities. While he might be way down on their selection pecking order, NFL fans will be eager to see him get his fair opportunity to play football. But as things stand, time might be running out as another season approaches with Kaepernick still without a team.
