The quarterback crisis that this offseason has presented the NFL world with has been interesting, to say the least. Veterans are out of jobs, or in the pursuit of looking for other appealing franchises, and young stars are circled by controversy. On the managerial front, teams in the league are bound to have their hands full with the Draft Combine at hand, and the looming free agency period. The New York Jets, for one, have become a huge talking point because of the reported predicament they’re in.

The Jets perhaps drafted BYU alum Zach Wilson because of what looked like a promising future with him as their franchise QB. Amidst the alleged disharmony within the team, speculation of the team’s possible decision of landing a veteran QB has taken over the narrative. But are they looking to replace Wilson?

That prompted questions from the NFL world regarding a potential trade, especially after the QB was benched in favor of Mike White. And now, as reports of Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr’s interest in the franchise emerge, should fans be inclined to believe that big changes are at hand?

After a humiliating exit from the Las Vegas Raiders, Derek Carr is taking his time to evaluate potential landing spots. A visit to the Jets fueled further speculation. At the same time, Aaron Rodgers’ impending decision regarding his future has come into play. With Nathaniel Hackett in New York, the possibility of the QB leaving the Packers for greener pastures is ever-present. So does that mean Zach Wilson is now being shown the door? Joe Douglas perceived the situation in a rather optimistic light.

He said, “Again, our stance on Zach hasn’t changed. We feel like Zach has a very high ceiling. In my time in the league, I’ve found when players love this game and when players work their tails off, they usually hit their ceiling.” The GM added, “So, I feel like Zach definitely has those traits. I still feel strongly that Zach’s going to be able to hit his ceiling.” Despite his thoughts on the matter, fans believe that ulterior motives are at play.

Wilson may have to prove himself sooner rather than later

The NFL world may be inclined to believe that despite the GM’s encouraging words, the Jets will trade Wilson. These users staunchly stated,

If the Jets truly believe that Wilson is capable of continuing his tenure with the franchise, the QB may have to prove himself on and off the field.
