Panthers’ defensive masterclass helps snatch a win over Houston Texans
The Carolina Panthers are 3-0 for the first time since 2015, when they had reached the Super Bowl. The Panthers’ victory streak is all thanks to consistent efficient performances from Sam Darnold. Their defense also has to be credited for staying compact and dominating the games from behind.
The Panthers studied their opponents well and exploited their weaknesses well. Houston’s rookie quarterback, Davis Mills, who was making the first start of his career, was completely choked by the Carolina defense. The Panthers contained him to just 168 yards. So far, the Panthers have allowed 573 yards and totaled 14 sacks in 3 games.
