Pat’s upcoming contract is expected to surpass the guaranteed money earned by Deshaun Watson, according to Keyshawn Johnson. Johnson confidently predicts that Pat’s next deal will exceed $300 million in guaranteed money, stating that he would bet on it without hesitation.
Keyshawn openly stated, “When you start talking about ‘the money part if he’s going to surpass 200 million dollars of guaranteed money’ I have no doubt about it, I mean that I would almost bet anything that he’s going to surpass it.” When asked if Pat would “hit” or surpass Watson’s contract, Johnson reiterated his belief and mentioned that the contract could potentially span an astonishing 10 years, amounting to around $750 million.
Responding to a question “Really you think they’re gonna crush it is he gonna hit Deshaun Watson?” Keyshawn said- “his next deal will be some crazy 10-year you know 750. And the guarantee will probably be close to 300 million dollars. He’s gonna smash Deshaun.” Furthermore, he suggests that the guarantee in Pat’s contract might approach a staggering amount, emphasizing that Pat will “smash” Watson’s contract in terms of financial terms. And Keyshawn exclaimed Chiefs will be ready to offer an open checkbook to secure Mahomes’ services. And his agent Lee Steinberg might just get him there.
Steinberg’s expertise and the Hunt family connection
According to Keyshawn Johnson, Patrick is represented by Lee Steinberg, an experienced agent with extensive knowledge of quarterback contracts. Steinberg has a strong relationship with the Hunt family, the owners of the Kansas City Chiefs. When you are considered “the guy” for a team, like Patrick is, the organization is willing to provide ample financial resources.
