Former NFL punter and media personality Pat McAfee has announced some incredible news. He has finally revealed his show’s ESPN debut date, eagerly awaited by many fans. As if that wasn’t enough to keep sports fans entertained, there is another potential development that could shake up the ESPN landscape.

According to reports, Shannon Sharpe, the former Ravens tight end and “Undisputed” host, might join Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s “First Take” too. If this happens, both Sharpe and McAfee would be great additions to ESPN, as they have a lot of charisma and insight to offer.

But that’s not all. McAfee also announced that he will be going live on ESPN for the very first time from noon to three on YouTube, Twitter, and all other platforms. The next day, he will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to continue the live broadcasts from there. And on Saturday night, he will simulcast from the field for the Texas vs. Alabama game. Pat McAfee said: “We’re incredibly pumped and excited.”

And there’s something else brewing at ESPN as well- American audiences will get to see Shannon Sharpe every Monday and Tuesday throughout the football season on ESPN too.

Shannon Sharpe’s move to ESPN is still up in the air

Sharpe left “Undisputed” and Skip Bayless in June. However, a recent update from SI on August 18 suggests that Sharpe’s deal to join ESPN is not finalized yet. ESPN host Stephen A. Smith admitted:

“It’s a bit premature. Shannon Sharpe has yet to sign on the dotted line to be a member of First Take. It has not happened yet.” – Per SI reports. Also, Smith is still optimistic and believes that Sharpe will join him on the show soon. He said: “I’m still confident it will happen. I still believe it will happen. I think it needs to happen.”

Both former NFL athletes Pat McAfee & Shannon Sharpe have a large fan base that follows their talk shows and opinions. And if the Sharpe deal is once officially signed it potentially can draw more viewers towards ESPN.
