Aaron Rodgers is a beast on the field. He is one of the most aggressive competitors when geared up, but in person, he is quite a slow speaker who lays out his ideas in great detail. Apparently, one cannot forgo the irony that exists in harboring contradicting personalities that flatter and make Aaron Rodgers a sensation both on and off the field for his fans. Rodgers may have an answer to that.

Based on the Rodgers–LaFleur incident and many others that NFL fans have witnessed over the years, Rodgers touched on his speaking irony in a recent interview with Men’s Health wherein he gave a reason for being a slow speaker in his personal life.

Aaron Rodgers is a very aggressive talker on the field. He will call out a player or a coach alike when it comes to football. The Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur will attest to that. Rodgers yelled at him during a game earlier this season because the QB thought he wasn’t being aggressive enough.

Just every single play call, probably,Rodgers expressed in an interview with Yardbarker after the OT win over the Dallas Cowboys in November. “I felt like I threw the ball just about exactly where I wanted to, so I wanted a chance to go win the game,” Rodgers added. He didn’t want to play OT and wanted to be aggressive in the dying moments to get into field goal range. That’s the aggressive Aaron Rodgers that the fans know.

But in person, he is a slow talker. Rodgers spoke about this irony in an interview with Men’s Health and gave a four-letter reason for that. Care. Yes, he speaks slowly in person because he chooses his words with care. His responses to anything aren’t brief; they are interconnected paragraphs. And they demand care. But he is still opinionated and speaks his mind on all topics under the sun.

Even though his opponents wish the iconic QB to be as slow on the field as he is off the field, the fact remains that he has made a career out of going for the kill.

The career in numbers

When Aaron Rodgers started his career as a Packers first-round draft pick in 2005, the league was dominated by QBs like Tom Brady. Brady was a three-time Super Bowl champion by the time Rodgers took his first snap in the NFL. To stand out, he had to be special. And he did exactly that and in turn, became the face of the Packers franchise.
