Roger Goodell made an appearance on YouTube’s Brandcast 2023, where he announced some pretty big changes to be made to reach fans differently. YouTube TV has acquired the rights to the NFL’s Sunday Ticket Package. The deal between the NFL and the tech giant is a whopping $2 billion annually.
Alphabet-owned Google’s subsidiary, YouTube TV, dominates the sports streaming field. The Commissioner shared some valuable insights on why the move was very crucial, and one of the reasons is because there is a large viewership rise of NFL-related content on the platform. He then said, “Sunday Ticket is just the beginning.“.
And that now YouTube creators have the first access NFL, it will reach fans in new ways than ever before. Also, it was announced that ‘NFL Creator of the Week’ will be launched on YouTube shorts when the season starts.
YouTube TV is overall a better option for streaming the NFL games as it offers some features that other platforms don’t. And it even offers a 10-day free trial, so the viewers are very excited about the move. But the streaming malfunction of the NBA game discussed before also happened on YouTube TV.
