ProFootballTalk has selected the Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell as the coach of the week after game week nine win against the Washington Commanders. This recognition is not only for his work in that game week, but a string of performances put up by the Vikings since the start of the season. It is clear by the tweet announcing the honor.

O’Connell played as a quarterback at San Diego State before being picked up by the New England Patriots in the 2008 NFL draft. He began his coaching career in 2015. O’Connell held various positions as an assistant coach in various teams. He was the Offensive Coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams team that lifted the Super Bowl last season. At the start of the 2022 season, he was appointed the head coach of the Vikings. And at the end of week nine, the Vikings are 7-1 in the league. They sit at to top of their division.
