KMBC’s YouTube channel shared a video of the press conference after the contract restructuring. In the video, Mahomes emphasized the importance of his gridiron performance. Despite earning promising money, his success will be measured by the games he can win for his team.
Sharing his target, Mahomes said, “I always talk about not having regrets. The money is the money. It’s awesome. It’s amazing. I know I can do a lot of great things not only for myself but for people that have given me so much. But at the end of the day, I’m going to be looked back on how I played the game, and I hope that that’s with intensity and leaving everything out there, and hopefully that means winning a lot of football games.”
Mahomes showed a promising performance last year, which included 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, resulting in a Super Bowl victory for the Chiefs. In the end, it’s the performance of the players that justifies their contracts.

The Chiefs faced a defeat in their season opener against the Detroit Lions, where Patrick Mahomes put up a one-man show in the absence of their star tight end Travis Kelce, and defensive tackle Chris Jones.
