Not only WRs but QB prospects have also crushed the 40-yard course in the combine, leaving no room for competition even among the best of players in the league at that position. And the Cincinnati Bearcats premier quarterback Desmond Ridder was no different.
NFL humiliatingly compared Patrick Mahomes to Desmond Ridder, Russell Wilson, and Marcus Mariota
The 2022 Senior Bowler clocked an unofficial 4.49s 40-yard dash. To provide an open comparison, the NFL grouped Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariota, and Ridder for a simulation race. Although Mariota won the race, but it was a close call between him, Wilson, and Mariota. However, Mahomes was left far behind.
Mahomes had a very humble reaction to the tweeted clip. He regretted being included in the group of fast quarterbacks. It was a pretty humiliating yet hilarious way to sketch one of the biggest star quarterbacks in the league. Mahomes, during his Combine appearance in 2017, recorded an official 4.80s 40-yard dash.
Tom Brady reacts to the Mahomes comparison
It was surely a humiliating way to address a league superstar. But imagine if it was Tom Brady. Brady is not fond of speed but rather has an incredible arm. The seven-time Super Bowl winner clocked an off-putting 5.28s 40-yard dash. Brady, unlike his NFL career, had a very unsatisfactory Combine performance in 2000.
