OBJ inspired by McGregor’s win
During UFC 205, Conor McGregor went on to defeat Eddie Alvarez back in 2016. And when OBJ was interviewed by ESPN, he said that watching McGregor fight was a motivating factor for his own win, as the New York Giants defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 21-20 in that season. That season was a breakout season for OBJ, as he also became the fastest player to reach 3,500 receiving yards in NFL history in just 36 games. In that matchup after watching McGregor, OBJ caught 10 passes for 97 yards and was a key player for the Giants in their victory against the Bengals.
From then till now, life has certainly changed for both athletes in their respective fields. But one thing remains the same for this year. They both are making their comebacks in their respective fields. While fans wait for an official confirmation on the McGregor versus Michael Chandler fight, the NFL world will also be waiting in anticipation to see OBJ play besides Lamar Jackson at the Ravens.
