Patrick Mahomes skyrocketed towards relevancy in his NFL career. He puts up stellar plays and took the Chiefs to win a Super Bowl. Mahomes and company made a great run in the last year. Despite the offseason losses, he still has the motivation to succeed this year.
On Monday, Mike Sando published segmented QB standings based on the votes of 50 mentors and executives. Due to the anonymity, many of them left shocking feedback. Both Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes faced harsh criticism. Especially Patrick, when a veteran defensive coach kept the Chiefs QB in Tier 2 and gave out some critical reviews.
The anonymous coach was referenced via Kansas City Star. “We love Mahomes because of his unorthodox throws, not because of his natural pocket presence,” the coach said. “And when that disappears, that is when they lose games. I don’t think that is a 1. I think that is a 2. Nothing against the guy. I love the kid. But take his first read away and what does he do? He runs, he scrambles and he plays streetball.”

There might be some tough times for Mahomes after losing out on Tyreek Hill. But he has a good reason to stay pumped up for the upcoming campaign.

Patrick Mahomes hit the jackpot when he got himself a 10-year, $503 million contract extension with the Chiefs. But since then, the QB market touched an all-time high. Be it Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, or Kyler Murray. All QBs got a lucrative deal, which is even bigger than Mahomes. However, the market raise did not seem to bother the Chiefs QB.

According to CBS Sports, the Chiefs quarterback is happy with his agreement. He isn’t concerned with becoming a top-paid player in the game. Furthermore, he believes that Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, and Russell Wilson could raise the bar even higher.
