Recently, he appeared in media for his team with the V Foundation, which works towards cancer research. In a recent IG story, Russell shared, “When a team wins, people cheer. When cancer research wins, people live,” tagging the foundation and wall street journal in the process. The V Foundation by ESPN and legendary HoF basketball coach Jim Valvano and has been awarded over $310 million in cancer research grants till now. But what’s interesting to note is that this isn’t Russell’s first venture!

The MerchMadness with Fanatics

In collaboration with the Fanatics, Russell Wilson participated in the first-ever #merchmedness event hosted at Frederick Douglass Academy in West Harlem, New York. Over 300,000 pieces of apparel were generously donated by Fanatics to 100,000 families and kids in need, amounting to a remarkable $20M worth of merchandise! The event was even more unique, with a star-studded lineup at every turn.

Wilson was a special guest pop-up after his arthroscopic surgery and recovery. Joining hands in this initiative was Bucs QB Tom Brady, who, with DJ Khaled, attended this event over in Miami. In Dallas, Micah Parsons, a prominent defensive lineman for the Cowboys, also lead this fanatics event making this one of the most significant events in town. Now, it would be amazing to see which cause is next on Wilson’s list.
