Colin Kaepernick is one of the few athletes in the league who remained steadfast and resolute, in the face of adversity. He spent all of his football career with the San Francisco 49ers, only to be released from the team in 2016. His famous kneeling during the national anthem is widely known, which is the sole reason he hasn’t gotten an offer from any other team. However, he doubled down on his activism, becoming a civil rights activist, with multiple projects for the betterment of the community.

Notably, his remarkable foundation has gotten a lot of recognition all over the country for the betterment of black and brown youths. So it’s safe to say that the former QB isn’t stopping anytime soon. Then, in recent news, months after letting go from the team, a former RB turned free agent has now chosen to follow in Kaepernick’s footsteps.

As the draft season comes to an end, there are not enough discussions about his signing to any other team, as none has shown any interest. Letting him go from the team now gives the 10.9 million in cap space, further exploring alternate athletes for the upcoming season. Following these series of unfortunate events, Elliott finds solace in community work, much like the former QB, Colin Kaepernick.
