After the success of ‘Quarterback’ on Netflix for Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are gearing up for a similar experience. They are soon going to open their doors for cameras beyond the NFL field for HBO and its crew for the latest season of ‘Hard Knocks’. ESPN’s Sports Center was the first to break the news that the Jets have been selected to be on this year’s Hard Knocks.

There is a lot of hype surrounding the 4X MVP’s arrival to the Big Apple. While Aaron Rodgers and the Jets would prefer the cameras steer clear of them this season, the outcome is inevitable at the moment. With Rodgers publicly stating his discomfort with the decision, 54-year-old Jets cheerleader chimes in to show his support for the team and its star acquisition this offseason.

On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, the 54-year-old sportscaster discussed the recent news of the Jets being the chosen one for this year’s ‘Hard Knocks’ series. He said that he “understands” how the Jets would prefer being able to come up with their game plans for the 2023 season in private, amidst the massive acquisition of Aaron Rodgers to be their starting QB ahead of Zach Wilson.

Eisen talked about how Rodgers understands that the Jets are selected by HBO because of him, stating, “Long story short thought, he understands why the Jets are on Hard Knocks. It’s because of him. If it’s Zach Wilson, they’re like okay, let’s see what Sam Howell’s up to in Washington DC. The Bears would have absolutely been the Hard Knocks team if the Jets ran it back with Zach Wilson. He then further went on to state how the 4X MVP QB knows everybody is trying to “poke” around him while the team shows its full support to Aaron Rodgers.

Recently, the Jets QB opened up about how he is not excited about being a part of this year’s Hard Knocks. During an interview with KPIX, Aaron Rodgers opened up about his feelings on the decision, stating that it was “forced down” their throats and how now, “they have to deal with it.” He further went on to state that he understands that this decision is influenced because of his decision to join the Jets and the expectations that fans have from him and his team in the upcoming season of the NFL. While Rodgers “understands the appeal’, the hype of being surrounded by camera crews is not something that is at the top of his priority list at the moment.
