Many consider Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans to be an underrated player when it comes to football. Statistically, his performance is worth a Hall of Fame entitlement, and will probably achieve the feat by the end of his career. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old is optimistic about being inducted into the pro football hall of fame one day. In a recent interview, the Texas native revealed his intentions on how he prefers to depart from the field.

Interestingly, Mike Evans is the only player in NFL history to complete 1000+ yards in all the seasons he has played in. Recently, while speaking to Ari Alexander of KPRC, the Texas alumnus mentioned his willingness to enter the elite list of wide receivers that have ever played the sport. “Yeah, of course,” Evans said on the show.

“I think about it, but obviously I try to stay in the moment as much as possible. But that’s what I’m working for, why not? I’m trying to be the best in the game right now, and ultimately one of the best to ever play.” he added to his speech.

Evans is getting ready to enter his ninth NFL season, and the star has already surpassed the records of several wide receivers on the Buccaneers roster. If he continues to do what he has been doing, the youngster is expected to mark his presence alongside legends like James Lofton, Calvin Johnson, and Fred Biletnikoff.

The previous records of Mike Evans and Tom Brady’s partnership have been impressive. And the duo is set to return for the third time on the field together. All thanks to Tom Brady, who came out of his 40-day retirement this offseason.

After getting drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft, Mike Evans registered his career-high touchdowns in 2020.

The very same year, Tom Brady left the Patriots and began a new journey in the NFC South. He recorded 13 touchdowns that season and improved the figure with 14 touchdowns last season. As a result, the stats indicate that the partnership is getting more productive every year they meet.

So far, Evans registered 9,301 passing yardages with 606 receptions and 75 touchdowns. In the absence of elite TE Rob Gronkowski, the receiver has a better chance to prove his worth. It will be interesting to see if Evans can continue his undisputed streak of 1000+ yards in the upcoming season.
