Davante Adams‘ physical outburst last season remains etched in the memory of many. Following a disappointing loss against the Chiefs, the passionate wide receiver found himself overwhelmed with frustration and shoved a 20-year-old videographer to the ground. Adams expressed immediate remorse and made an apology video right after the incident. This whole incident was widely condemned by the NFL community and eventually led to two different lawsuits.
The Raiders‘ WR was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault in Kansas City municipal court following the incident. Adams’s case has been pending since last year, and he has a scheduled court appearance on June 26th.

Two days before his scheduled court appearance, a prosecutor from the municipal court dropped the charges against Adams. It was also reported that the case now falls under confidential status according to Missouri law. Thus, the information related to the case has been legally protected from disclosure to the public. Therefore, Adams can now look forward to the upcoming season without looking out for court troubles.

Although the assault case has been put to an end, Adams’ civil suit is still pending. The 20-year-old videographer, Park Zebley, sued the WR last month and sought damages. The freelancer videographer for ESPN even claimed that he was diagnosed with concussion syndrome after the shove. Zebley further added in the lawsuit that he was threatened online after the incident, and he ‘feared for his life’. The Raiders were also included in the lawsuit for employing the wide receiver.
There haven’t been any official statements from the defendant yet. However, Adams has tried to make omens and expressed his remorse over the internet. He explained that he was agitated after the loss, which unfortunately led to his outburst on the field. Only time will tell how this lawsuit unfolds, and if there are any chances of the WR being penalized by the NFL.
