Damar Hamlin collapsed after a cardiac arrest episode on-field on January 2, 2023, and sent the entire NFL world into frenzied worry. Hamlin collided with Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins and had to be given CPR for resuscitation. The Buffalo Bills and Bengals ended up suspended and later canceled. However, even after news of recovery, every bit of Damar news is just as reassuring.

After waking up and in his first written communication with the University of Cincinnati Medical Center staff, Damar wanted to know who won the game. And his dedication to the Buffalo program didn’t go unnoticed. However, Damar took a step ahead and even reached out to his worried teammates.

Damar depended on ventilator support for his damaged lungs and remained intubated for almost 24 hours before the good news arrived. However, after regaining his vital stability, Damar is now interacting with friends, family, and teammates. The safety had a video call on FaceTime with the boys in their first conversation after the tragic incident.

As per the latest reports out of the UCMC medical camp, “Damar is making continued progress in his recovery yet remains in critical condition. He continues to breathe on his own and his neurological function is excellent.”

Buffalo quarterback and MVP candidate Josh Allen couldn’t be more relieved after hearing the good news. Allen was in tears at the stadium last Monday. However, the scene was different when Allen sported the no.3 sweatshirt before the Patriots game tonight.
