Eli Manning, former QB for the New York Giants, has put speculations about Aaron Rodgers‘ replacement to rest in his latest interview. The 42-year-old retired from the NFL in 2020 after 16 seasons with the Giants. During one of the segments of the Pat McAfee Show, Eli was asked about his thoughts about the potential replacements for Aaron Rodgers. He replied by saying that it is better if Zach Wilson, the current QB of the Jets, is trusted with that role rather than a player from outside the team. Manning reasoned that the player would have to be taught the ways of the Jets’ plays and that would take too much time. He further claimed, “Zach Wilson can do the job.”

In recent news, it was revealed that Colin Kaepernick, former QB of the San Francisco 49ers, wants to make a return to the NFL. His agent reached out to the Jets with an offer and wanted Kaepernick to replace Rodgers in light of his recent injury. Though he has played over 6 seasons with the 49ers, fans aren’t too sure if he is the right fit for the important role of responsibility.

As the team recovers from the loss of such a major player in the team, the Jets will have to look for other prospects and change their game strategies. There is no doubt that the Jets are full of excellent players who can be trusted to make all the right offenses. Players like Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Justin Hardee, etc. are all talented athletes who have performed for the team time and time again.

The Jets haven’t brought a Super Bowl home in over 54 years. With one of the longest spans without a championship, could this team be the one to finally repeat the Super Bowl win from 1969? Even though Rodgers is down for the count, the fans and the team haven’t lost hope, especially after the overwhelming overtime victory over the Bills.

Even though Rodgers’ injury came as a big hit, the squad managed a 22-16 overtime victory against the Bills. While the Jets remain incomplete without Rodgers, the team’s backup QB, Zach Wilson certainly comes as a ray of hope. The Jets will face the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at 4:25 PM ET
