Tom Brady loved the reception he got in his ex-wife’s ancestral country. He was already raving about it before hopping on the plane. Post his German expedition, he was even more in awe of the fans that showed up. He even wants his fans back in Tampa Bay to pick up something from the Germans.
Germany leaves Tom Brady in awe
The 45-year-old played as he has played in one of his 7 Super Bowl-winning campaigns. He threw the pigskin around with some fire in his arms. Brady threw 22 out of 29 passes and recorded two touchdowns in their 21-16 win. One of the touchdowns came in the fourth quarter. Apart from the one interception during this quarter, Brady was his vintage self.
The electric atmosphere of the Allianz Arena had a huge role to play in this. In his post-game interview, Brady acknowledged the German fans and said, “That was one of the great football experiences I’ve ever had, It says a lot for 23 years in the league and for a regular-season game.” Having played in nine super bowls and over 23 years, this was a lot coming from him.
He was particularly taken aback by the German crowd singing in the fourth quarter. While he has close associations with pop artists and rappers, his roots lie in country music. After all, he is an American through and through.

He shouted out to the German fans as they serenaded him with some country classics. “The end of the game, with them singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Country Roads,’ that was pretty epic. So I think everyone who’s a part of that experience got to have something. A pretty amazing memory for the rest of their life. So thank you for hosting us, we appreciate it. Thank you.” While it’s not everything, the stadium atmosphere is huge for players’ morale.
Brady even urged his fans in Tampa Bay to make this a tradition as he took to his Instagram to share a video. In his Instagram story, Tom Brady said “New 4th Quarter tradition?@buccaneers” tagging his team as he shared a video from the stands of the whole Allianz Arena singing John Denver’s tunes.

Will Tampa Bay pick on this cue from their quarterback and energize him through the remainder of the season? Or was this just a spectacle because it happened internationally? Only time will tell. The Bucs will return to their fortress on December 6th, when they take on the Saints.
