Aaron Rodgers might miss this NFL season, and it could potentially mark the end of his career. When he joined the New York Jets, anticipation and excitement were running high. Everyone was hoping that this might be the Jets’ chance to win the Super Bowl with Rodgers on their side. However, all these dreams appear to be fading after the last Monday night football game.

Just five minutes into the game against the Buffalo Bills, Rodgers was carted off the field due to an ankle injury, later confirmed as a torn Achilles’ tendon. As of now, Zach Wilson will be taking his place for the rest of the season. However, in terms of quarterback options, the Jets don’t have many alternatives, except Tim Boyle. With Rodgers out for the season, they will need someone of the same caliber to replace him.

After Aaron Rodgers’ injury, several free agents could be considered to replace the veteran QB. One of them is Colin Kaepernick, the same Kaepernick who was once released from the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality against the black community.

According to a recent update, Kap and his agent have reportedly reached out to the Jets about his desire to make a comeback after a seven-year absence. Even the NFL quarterback turned social activist confirmed this update on his Instagram by sharing multiple stories posted by his fans about his potential return to the gridiron.

It could be a golden wild card entry for Colin Kaepernick if he comes back after over 2,000 days of his paused NFL career. However, there are speculations about whether the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, if he returns, will be able to perform at his best. Well, he might perform well, despite being out of the league since 2016. The social activist made sure that his gameplay and throws were not impacted during this gap.

He remained dedicated to practice and has consistently demonstrated impressive throws, as confirmed by some NFL wide receivers like CeeDee Lamb, Kendrick Bourne, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, and running backs Najee Harris and Derrick Henry during a Nike endorsement event. Lamb said about Kaepernick, “The arm’s still intact, strong arm…..Man, he’s still Kaep, now. (He’s) still got it.

Therefore, even if Kaepernick were to grace the gridiron after seven years, he would bring the same aura he had when he was with the 49ers. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the final update on him and sincerely hope for his comeback to host the American flag, just like Colin Kaepernick himself does.
