The Aaron Rodgers saga is still up in the air. The QB indicated some time ago that he intended to play for the New York Jets next season. While the Green Bay Packers have moved on to Jordan Love for the upcoming season, the Jets still are waiting for their man. The blockbuster trade saga has remained unresolved despite a guarantee coming out more than 48 hours ago.

Rodgers is leaving the Packers fold after 18 years of being the face of the franchise. But when will the trade actually go through? Fans are getting impatient, and the guarantees don’t seem to work.

Fans are eagerly seeking updates on the long-standing issue of Aaron Rodgers’ deal with the Jets. They are actively approaching anyone they can talk to for information, particularly the journalist who guaranteed the trade over 48 hours ago. A fan shot up the query to Athletic’s Matt Schneidman and this was his response.

The query came more than 48 hours after Schneidman gave a guarantee about the trade happening in ‘the next three hours’. Though as a benefit of the doubt, he had tweeted it on the day of April 1 a,k.a ‘April Fools Day’.

The Packers wanted a first draft pick in the Rodgers trade package from the Jets. According to the latest reports, that is no longer the case. Both the franchises are ironing out the final details of the deal but there is no timeline on when or if the final trade will go through. So, no guarantee from this side.

The Jets dream

Currently, the Jets hold an unfavorable record; they have the longest active playoff drought not only in the NFL but also in all of American professional sports. This drought has been ongoing since the 2010 season, during which they were under the leadership of head coach Rex Ryan. To break this streak, the Jets are hoping to enlist the help of Aaron Rodgers.

The QB wants to move away from Lambeau Field, and the Jets have already started preparing a dream team for him. The only obstacle now is a deal with the Packers. Green Bay has already announced Jordan Love as their QB1 for the 2023 season so more probable than not, the trade will go through. It just remains to be seen if it happens in hours, days or weeks.
