Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris seems to want Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers to take the reins from Big Ben. The veteran Steelers QB Roethlisberger called time on his 18-year career, which was full of both good and bad memories. It took only a day following his departure that questions about who will replace him were in circulation. Among the few who decided to speak up was young rookie RB Najee Harris.

The 23-year-old Pittsburgh player was open in mentioning three different quarterbacks when the question was put up to him.
While talking to CBS Sports about whom he wanted next season, he did state, “There’s names that pass my mind…Deshaun Watson’s always in there. Aaron Rodgers. Obviously I don’t know how far he is coming close to retirement, but he’s somebody I think, too. Even guys like, if we get Jimmy [Garoppolo]. I like him too.”

Aaron Rodgers: An interesting choice
One name Najee Harris did want and will be on the Steelers list could be the Packers’ QB. The rumors about Rodgers moving away from Green Bay don’t seem to move away soon. But the Steelers are sure to face stiff competition from the Broncos who hired former Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett. The Steelers will also have to strengthen some areas of their roster to even think of attracting Rodgers to Pittsburgh.

The other names like Texans QB Deshaun Watson and QB Jimmy Garoppolo also seem to be out of the race for different reasons. While Watson will face impending prosecution over sexual assault charges, Garoppolo seems to have finally have done enough to get another year at San Francisco.

Out of the three possibilities, Garoppolo could be the man to target with 49ers who do share a vision to move to rookie QB Trey Lance. Garoppolo will be a good fit for a franchise looking for an experienced veteran who can lead them into the postseason every year.
