If not for American football the Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would have been a great soccer player. He is an avid soccer fan and admires the skill level and artistry of the game. Rodgers has been a decent soccer player since childhood. However, he gave up the sport only because he wanted to focus on football.

As a pro footballer, Rodgers is an exceptional talent, but the case would have been different if he had pursued soccer.

Aaron Rodgers and his love for Soccer

The four-time MVP is one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Having played for so many years for the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers has carved a special place in the hearts of NFL fans. Even though football was his soul for many years, the veteran has a secret love for Soccer as a game.

While talking to the Manchester United community through their official Facebook page back in 2019, he addressed his love for the team and soccer as a game.

“I‘ve been a soccer fan for a long time,” Rodgers said in a popular Soccer show interview back in 2021. Roger Bennett’s show witnessed Rodgers talking about his childhood experiences and other parts and parcels of life. Growing up, Rodgers played Soccer as a child in California.

“I was a decent soccer player, I wasn’t very good in the grand scheme of things. I look at the all-time greats, and they had it at an early age. I was 11 or 12 and didn’t have a good left foot.” Rodgers told Bennett before adding that he gave up the sport, just to focus on football.

He says that the game is very beautiful in the cities of Europe, “The skill level and the artistry is what got me,” Rodgers said in the interview.

The legacy of Green Bay Packers QB

Aaron Rodgers is one of the most successful quarterbacks in the current NFL era. His reputation is locked in the vault of Famers as the NFC’s No.1 seed. Rodgers began his college football career at Butte College in 2002, where he set several career passing records, including the lowest single-season and career interception rates.

Very soon, he got drafted by the Packers in 2015. Rodgers piled up records for the Packers and collected several titles under his name, including 4 MVPs. The reigning MVP won his first Super Bowl title in 2011, and he is eying another one in the upcoming seasons.

The 38-year-old quarterback is the fifth player in the history of the NFL to win MVP awards in consecutive seasons. It seems destiny never wanted to see him as a soccer player; Otherwise, the NFL would have never received a gem like him!
