Aaron Rodgers may have sent a secret message to his former Packers teammate David Bakhtiari, but it seems like the Packers are not listening. The Jets quarterback, who was traded from Green Bay earlier this year, tagged Bakhtiari in an Instagram post with his new receiver Garrett Wilson. He also tagged another ex-Packer, Davante Adams, who plays for the Raiders now.

Rodgers wrote “always love my 17s” in the caption, referring to the jersey numbers of Wilson and Adams. But he also hid Bakhtiari’s name on his backside, which some fans interpreted as a subtle hint that he wants the Jets to trade for the star left tackle.

The Packers’ general manager Brian Gutekunst has shut down any talk of trading Bakhtiari to the Jets. According to ESPN, Gutekunst said that the Packers are not going to trade Bakhtiari, and he wants to end any speculation about it.

“First off all, we’re not going to trade David. So let’s just get that out of the way because I know there’s been a little bit of chatter about that,” Gutekunst said per ESPN. “It’s not going to happen.”

Gutekunst probably made these comments in response to recent rumors that the Jets and Rodgers were interested in acquiring Bakhtiari to bolster their offensive line. No doubt, Bakhtiari is one of the best left tackles in the NFL and a three-time Pro Bowler. He was Rodgers’ blindside protector in Green Bay for 10 years. Teams GM Gutekunst’s comments show how much he values Bakhtiari and how reluctant he is to let him go.

They started with a disappointing loss to the Browns, 21-26, where the Jets struggled to find their rhythm. However, they bounced back in the second game, a dominant win over the Panthers, 27-0. The third game was a tough test for the Jets, as they faced Tom Brady’s former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccs were the Super Bowl champions before the Chiefs and Jets could not settle for victory, they lost 6-13.
