The Green Bay Packers – Aaron Rodgers standoff has been going on for long. Since rumors of his apparent exit first surfaced on draft day, the speculation surrounding his future has refused to die out.

Skipping the team’s mandatory minicamp and OTAs to vacation in Hawaii Rodgers has made his intention clear through his actions. But so far, the quarterback is yet to verbally back the narrative.

But according to his own words, an update is expected about the situation soon. 

Aaron Rodgers likely to decide on future soon

Over the course of the offseason, Aaron Rodgers has been asked the question multiple times. Is he really leaving Green Bay? And each and every time, the QB has refused to entertain the question.

But finally, Aaron Rodgers has spoken out. Or at least given us a time frame as to when to expect the 2020 NFL MVP to make a decision about his future. 

Enjoying himself at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe, NBC Sports caught up with Rodgers in between the game to talk about the prevailing scenario. And Rodgers replied by saying that he plans to make a decision on his future soon. As soon as the next few weeks.

“Well, I’m going to enjoy the hell out of this week,” Rodgers said. “And then I’m gonna get back to working out and figure things out in a couple of weeks.”

Rodgers’ displeasure apparently stems from his unsteady relationship with the Packers‘ front office. And perhaps the drafting of Jordan Love in 2020 without informing the veteran QB was the tipping point.

Despite drafting Love to be the future of the franchise, the QB is yet to play a single snap in the league thanks to Rodgers’ heroics. But if Aaron Rodgers indeed moves out, the Packers faithful will have to get used to seeing a new QB under center.
