The Green Bay Packers have had a few headaches over the past few years. But that definitely hasn’t trickled into their quarterback department. While the side had league MVP Brett Favre, they went on to draft a rookie QB from UCLA in 2005 by the name of Aaron Rodgers. 

Since then that rookie has gone on to win a Super Bowl and three NFL MVP titles. So it’s safe to say that Aaron Rodgers has become a bit of a household name in the NFL thanks to his insane throwing accuracy.

Still the reigning league MVP at the age of 37, Aaron Rodgers though still remembers his humble beginnings. Born and raised in California, the quarterback comes from humble origins. 

So when he landed his first professional football contract with the Green Bay Packers back in 2005, Aaron Rodgers just had to splurge big to celebrate the moment. 

Aaron Rodgers recalls the time he bought a diamond watch 

While talking to hauteliving.com, Aaron Rodgers, who is a well-known watch enthusiast revealed that after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers, his first purchase was indeed a watch. But not just any watch, a diamond-studded one for that matter.

“We didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up, so I didn’t really have a watch,” Rodgers says. “So when I got drafted, I bought this silly diamond-bedazzled watch. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.”

The Green Bay Packers quarterback added that it was a dream to own a diamond-studded watch. And as the money hit the bank, he couldn’t help but realize his dream.

“I had always wanted a diamond watch, and I still have it to this day. It still means a lot to me, just because of the nostalgia associated with buying it.”

The quarterback now is one of the most well-paid players in his position. And while his future, with the Green Bay Packers, may remain uncertain, one can be sure that Rodgers’ love for watches will never fade.
