Packers star Aaron Rodgers was questioned about his response to this situation on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’. He appeared there after a disappointing performance during his team’s humiliating defeat. Rodgers reacted as if he wasn’t pissed. He rather praised Gardner for his efforts. Though he didn’t miss the chance to poke him back. By addressing the Jets’ victory as rare, he added that he doesn’t mind Gardner celebrating as the ‘kid’ rarely gets a chance to celebrate.

Rodgers signed a contract extension to return to Green Bay for the 18th season. The Packers lost in the playoffs in the last two seasons. The CheeseHeads were expecting that their hero’s comeback would help them secure the Super Bowl berth that has evaded them since their 2010 championship season. But ever since his return, things have gone the wrong way. Rodgers has single-handedly won many battles for the Packers in the past, even when they were the worst team. But throughout this season, the Rodgers magic is missing.

Not a single thing has gone in the right way for the Packers this season. After 1998, this is the second time since 1970 that they have lost back-to-back games, both as 7+ point favorites. They lost 27-22 against the New York Giants in London before this surprising 27-10 home loss to the Jets. In either case, the man wearing the green no. 12 had no answers up his sleeve. He looked rusty and even most of his trademark offenses were ineffective.

Rodgers himself admitted inconsistency in the team’s offense and suggested simplifying their approach for further betterment. The Packers fans though can’t just trust his words as the actions in recent times have belied their expectations. Based on Rodger’s current form, it is evident that Rodgers is crawling down his reputation. And that definitely will give the CheeseHeads further pain ahead this season.
