Aaron Rodgers has been experiencing a new leash on his NFL career. Having moved to the New York Jets earlier this year, Rodgers has seen the spotlight turned to him. This is evident with the OTAs and his appearances off-field, especially in links with Taylor Swift. With a focus on his career and life, he will have a hard time with the injury news that broke earlier this week. With the new season just 85 days away, the injury will come as a late scare.

Off-season injuries are a scare for every team in the NFL, and the Jets aren’t any different. The Jets have seen the players earn minor injuries, Rodgers included. The former Packers QB was grappling with a tweak in his calf a couple of weeks ago. Now, their tight end is set to join the sidelines, and Rodgers’ Jets will need to adapt quickly.

The New York Jets might begin the season one with one starter short. The injuries are creeping in late in the season as Chuck Clark joins the sidelines. In a tweet shared by Dov Kleiman, Clark is reported to have torn his ACL. This is just months before the new season begins and preseason matches just 7 weeks away.

The injury scare has seen the Jets act fast in the market as they look to bring in cover for the depleted position. Rodgers’ Jets have signed Adrian Amos as their safety in the last couple of days. This is in direct response to the loss of Clark and the knee injury sustained.

Aaron Rodgers and co will need to gel quickly with the new signing joining the team. This will be especially hard since there are no sessions and OTAs scheduled in the month. The decision which seemed like a sound strategy might come to haunt the Jets coach. As the team will be starting with a new Safety, who had no chance to blend in, after the canceled minicamp saga.

Robert Saleh, head coach of the new York Jets, abandoned the plans for a minicamp scheduled in mid-June. This came with the declaration by Saleh in his interview after the OTA. Saleh declared his boys have been training well in the sessions and have put in the effort for a good offseason. Saleh said in the interview, “Guys need to get away. They’ve put in a really good offseason.” This decision was in conjunction with the fact that they start the preseason games early taking on Cleveland Browns in the Hall of Fame game.

With the Jets being the only team that has canceled the minicamp ahead of the season, it might swing either way, a masterstroke, or a blunder. Since the addition of new safety Amos, it may grow to be a blunder as he may not get the chance to adapt to his teammates, especially the big-name signing, Aaron Rodgers.
