Aaron Rodgers is one of the top QBs in the NFL. The veteran of 18 years has an exceptionally strong throwing arm and delivered brilliant throws over the course of his career. The QB has been a Packer since he was drafted in 2005 and has played with and seen dozens of rookies coming to the team.
Recently, an old video of Rodgers surfaced wherein the star can be seen with his Packers teammates in a classroom-like setting.

Suddenly, Rodgers throws something at his unsuspecting teammate. It is what the QB throws that would leave fans surprised.
What’s with the cabbage throwing?
The video shows the Packers having a talent night for rookie players on the team. A few of the team veterans sit facing the stage. A very young T. J. Lang demonstrates his talent to the unenthused audience, who are bored by Lang’s talents.
With players booing Lang and frustrations rising at the uneventful performance, a younger Aaron Rodgers pulls out an unexpected projectile- a cabbage, then hurls it QB style straight at Lang, almost knocking the rookie’s head off.

The video is from 2009, Lang’s rookie season with the Packers. Lang played for the Packers for eight seasons (2009-2017). The cabbage thrown by Rodgers seems to be part of locker room banter and no serious attempt to hurt Lang, although it was a close call.

At the end of the video, Lang says, “Can’t even speak of that unspeakable night.” From what one can understand from the video, they did it in jest to show Lang how terrible his performance was going.

If this video is from 2009, Rodgers was only four years into his tenure at the Packers. At present, he is in his 18th season with the team. Rodgers has been the league MVP in the years: 2011, 2014, 2020, and 2021 seasons. He also led the Packers to a Super Bowl in the 2010 season, defeating the Steelers.
In the league, Rodgers is among the most talented, resilient, and long-lasting QBs. He has one of the best-throwing arms and has abilities to throw accurately, even without having a perfect balance.
