The New York Jets are doing everything in their power to secure Aaron Rodgers to lead from the center. However, despite the possible end of the Green Bay-Rodgers relationship, his former teammates are evidently still very close to their veteran quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers is clearly stirring up the suspense to hit the fan hours before the free agency deadline. However, fans noticed that the Gang Green core cares more about No. 12 than his former teammates. And Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas clapped back.

The Jets rookies and legends have all been doing their part to bring the 4x league MVP to the pocket. Super Bowl III winner and Jets icon Joe Namath even came forward to offer his No. 12 jersey to A-Rod. The rookies have been nudging Rodgers on Twitter for quite some time.

One fan noticed that none of the Green Bay Packers teammates left tweets for him to stay in Wisconsin. “Just thinking about all these Jets players asking 12 to come join them in New York on social media. Why aren’t 12’s teammates asking him to stay here,” the fan wondered.

Rasul had enough. “Because we have his number. We can actually text him instead of writing it on social media. As our leader, he knows how each person on the roster feels about him,” the former Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion retweeted.

The Jets are leaving no stones unturned

Former Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall caught up with Rodgers at a Flag Football Charity event in Laguna Beach. And Marshall presented A-Rod with the choice to become an all-time Jet. Rodgers didn’t fully agree, but he gets the nudge. “Not if you play for one year, you can’t be an all-time Jet. Organizations have history. It’s about the people that made these organizations,” he said, possibly hinting at a one-season scenario in the Jets green.

That’s not it. Last week, Jets CB and Defensive Rookie of the Year, Sauce Gardner invoked the supernatural. He, along with fellow Jets teammates Breece Hall and Offensive Rookie of the Year, Garrett Wilson, burnt the sacrificial Cheesehead hat that Sauce had previously used to trash Green Bay after a win.

The Jets want Rodgers, especially after their meeting in Aaron’s Malibu home this week. And the NFL world will have a concert answer on Rodgers’ whenever he is ready with one.
