There is a lot of hype surrounding the 4X MVP’s debut season in New York. Fans are hopeful that Aaron Rodgers will end their 12-year playoff drought and possibly make them worthy of Super Bowl contention. But it was Zach Wilson who played as the QB during the Hall of Fame game, while Rodgers witnessed the matchup from the sidelines. And at the end of the third quarter, the game witnessed a 20-minute hurdle.

According to an article by AP News, the game between the Jets and the Browns in Ohio witnessed a 20-minute power outage. This took place during the third and fourth quarters of the game when the Jets had a 16-14 lead against their rivals. While the real reason behind the blackout was not decoded, it brought a halt to the play. There were still a few lights on in the stadium. But it was not sufficient for play to resume, as the field was still too dark for players to carry on their HOF game.

Wilson made his mark in the Hall of Fame game

The 24-year-old did not have a great season last year. And this led to the team bringing in Aaron Rodgers as their QB1, while the young Zach Wilson flourishes and hones his skills under the guidance of the 4X MVP. HC Robert Saleh was confident enough in Wilson to put him on the field during the first preseason game of 2023. And the QB2 did not disappoint. He opened the game’s first score with a 57-yard TD pass to Malik Taylor. Wilson completed the game with 3 of 5 passes for 65 yards. This led to fans believing that maybe the young QB will give tough competition to Aaron Rodgers for the starting role in the roster.

With the preseason ending on a losing note for the Jets, fans will now be more eager to see their new QB take the field and turn the fortunes of the team in the coming days ahead.
