Aaron Rodgers’ monetary demands from the Packers have been the subject of speculation for quite some time. Nevertheless, Rodgers’ former teammate Greg Jennings revealed a conversation between him and Rodgers on the ‘First Things First,’ flaring up the speculations.

Former Packers wide receiver, Greg Jennings made an appearance on the Fox Sport’s show. Jennings called Rodgers “selfish” after reports circulated that he was seeking a contract worth $50 million a year.

Jennings said, “Aaron Rodgers has been a very selfish guy…… I get it that he’s at the end of his career. And so, it’s like, OK, I’m gonna take whatever I can take.” Additionally, Jennings related an experience he had personally.

A conversation between Rodgers and Jennings, when Jennings was signing his first extension with the Packers after his rookie deal.

He added, “He came up to me because players had been going back to the organization’s front office…… His words to me were ‘don’t be that guy.’ Don’t sign this contract and then want more money. Now all of a sudden, it’s about the money.”

Hence, such comments from a former teammate only spur speculation in a direction that Rodgers would not want.

Is Aaron Rodgers asking for $50 million a year?

Recently, ESPN’s NFL reporter, Dianna Russini on the “Rich Eisen Show” reported, “He wants to be the highest-paid player in the NFL by a wide margin, so we’re talking about $50 million per year.” Therefore, Russini’s comments sparked all the speculation.

Additionally, Nick Wright on the ‘First Things First’ claimed that Rodgers can leave the Packers if his monetary demands are not met. He also listed a few teams that might offer him that kind of money. Furthermore, he implied that Rodgers hasn’t earned the status to be made the league’s highest-paid quarterback.

Although Rodger’s future with the Packers and in the NFL is still unknown, we can expect to hear more from him in the coming weeks. However, in terms of his contract demands, Rodgers seems clear about what he wants.
