Nowadays, more than his football greatness, Brett Favre’s name got connected with fraudulent activities, especially the Mississippi scandal has turned the public interest towards him into hatred. Recently, the former Indianapolis Punt Pat McAfee called him the Sticky finger bandit, surprising Aaron Rodgers, who was present on the talk show.

The Packers QB happened to be a regular visitor on the Pat McAfee show following his weekly games. Along with McAfee, he analyses football and discusses various issues, giving expert advice on such matters.

The Mississippi welfare fund scandal was the highlight of this week’s episode. McAfee called Brett Favre the Sticky finger bandit from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. “My brain was literally like we’re in the holiday season. Brett Favre – what did he do,” McAfee said.

“He didn’t just steal from the poor. Oh, he is the actual Sticky Finger Bandits from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” he added, grilling the Hall of Famer quarterback for his involvement in this issue. “Jesus!” said Aaron Rodgers, who was taken by surprise by McAfee’s ‘Sticky finger bandit’ remark.

Meanwhile, the former Punt is one of the harsh critics of Favre shooting arrows from the media world.

It is certainly an awkward moment for an athlete like Rodgers, who succeeded Favre and inherited the legacy of the Packers. According to the audit reports and investigations, there is uncertainty over $77 million of welfare funds.

Moreover, the former quarterback is accused of receiving welfare money as a payment for various projects and initiatives. The needy families of Mississippi deserved the money; however, it never happened, and the projects are still incomplete.

Regardless of what Favre does in the second phase of life, he is enshrined as one of the greatest quarterbacks in record books. After getting recruited by the Packers in 2005, he watched Favre for three years as a second-string prospect on the sidelines.

“Ultimately that’s what was best for me. To kind of have a resettling of the ego and the competitive drive and the work ethic,” Rodgers expressed gratitude and admiration for his predecessor.

Rodgers had succeeded pretty well in carrying forward the legacy and sustaining the brand value of the Packers. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see who the next person in line will be to pass on the baton.
