The Green Bay Packers were in a world of uncertainty given the future of their star QB Aaron Rodgers. News broke out that Rodgers was seeking to leave Green Bay ahead of the 2021 NFL season. And his actions suggested that that indeed was the case.

Holding out from OTAs and minicamp, Rodgers made it clear that he had no intentions of returning. With his beef with the Packers front office laid bare for all to see, the team scrambled to convince the 2020 NFL MVP to return for 2021.

And that they did. Aaron Rodgers is back at Lambeau Field and will play for the Packers in 2021. But what happens beyond that is a bit of a mystery.

Among some of the concessions offered to bring back Rodgers includes voiding the 2023 year of his current contract. This will cause serious salary cap issues for the Packers as in 2022, Aaron Rodgers will now come with a cap hit of $46.14 million.

And with the Packers already in cap hell, they might well be forced to trade Rodgers in 2022. But which side might make the move for the star QB? Of course, nearly any team would be getting a substantial boost by having Aaron Rodgers on their roster.

And a former teammate of the QB highlighted the one team he believes will successfully pull off a trade for Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers is head to New Orleans

During an interview with TMZ Sports, former Green Bay Packers player Will Blackmon was asked about his thoughts about what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers. And for Blackmon, the choice was an easy one to make.

“Next year,” Blackmon said, “Aaron Rodgers will be a New Orleans Saint.”

The former defensive back was teammates with Rodgers from 2006 through 2009. And with the two still sharing a close bond, Blackmon said he can picture Aaron Rodgers taking over the Saints offense in 2022.
