The Packers need to win their last game against the Lions to go through to the playoffs. But even if they do, none of their games will take place at the Lambeau Field. So, the all-important week 18 clash is the last time the team takes the field at home this season. What if this is also the last home game for QB Aaron Rodgers as a Packer?

Well, the back-to-back league MVP hasn’t said anything to suggest he is moving away. But he hasn’t said anything to rule it out either. According to the Packers insider Ryan Wood, the iconic QB will make a decision about his future in the offseason. And he hasn’t ruled out anything. That is surely a worrying part of the whole conversation.

After a lackluster first half of the season, the Packers have picked up pace recently. And they have turned the season around. Still, if they do go ahead, the team will be seeded seventh in the NFC. Do they stand a chance if they make it to the postseason? 

The Packers’ chances in the playoffs 

Any team that has Aaron Rodgers cannot be written off at all. They will always be in the hunt. Most fans and the media wrote the Packers off after just four wins in 12 games. But the team has bounced back to win all of the next four games to keep themselves in the hunt.

The Packers have improved their run game to complement Rodger’s passes. That arrangement is beneficial because it keeps the defenses guessing. And that is what the Minnesota Vikings learnt the hard way.

Rodgers threw 159 passing yards in the game with one touchdown. But the team gained 163 rushing yards, scoring two touchdowns. Even the special team chipped in, with kick returner Keisean Nixon returning a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown. The Packers won 41-17.
