Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has been a Liverpool fan. But recently it has come to fore that he has switched his allegiance somewhere else.
Rodgers gave his reasons for ditching Liverpool in favor of their rivals in the Premier League during his London visit. The Green Bay Packers quarterback was in the British capital for the NFL game against the New York Giants.

Aaron Rodgers revealed his support for Liverpool’s title rivals Manchester City. The self-confessed Steven Gerrard fan has given his reasons for ditching his sporting icon’s Reds.”City. They’ve been good to me. They’ve sent me a lot of kits, a lot of gear,” Rodgers said. He was speaking before the Giants game held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

”They played at Lambeau this year and I enjoy City. Honestly, I got into it by watching the documentary about the team and enjoying the way Pep handled his team and his coaching staff. But I did enjoy Gerrard and the Reds for a while,” the Packers QB added.
The Giants defeat the Packers
Aaron Rodgers surely was the main attraction for the fans attending the game in London. But both Rodgers and his fan base east of the Atlantic were left in rue as the Giants managed a surprise win over the Packers.
Green Bay started the game as the favorite but was stunned by a 27-22 defeat. Rodgers’ team started off the game well and dominated the first two quarters. But the Giants made a comeback and nearly shut out the Cheese Heads in the second half of the game.

Rodgers himself had a decent game with a total of 222 passing yards. He also completed 25 of 39 attempted passes, with not a single pass of his being intercepted. He notched up 2 touchdown passes as well.
The QB’s performance was not enough for the Packers to win the game. That being said, it would surely have pleased his fans. They would surely hope for his return to England in the future, only this time also return with a victory under his belt.

The Packers are 3-2 after 5 games and sit second in the National Football Conference table. Their next game is on Sunday against the second New York team, the Jets. The Giants are 4-1 after five games but find themselves in third place in the NFC East table. They take on the 3-2 Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
