Aaron Rodgers is possibly one of the most influential players in the Packers team. The veteran Packers player has been playing for almost 18 years at the same club. Over the years, he has seen dozens of players join and leave the Packers, as he has remained true to the team which drafted him in 2005.

Recently, Rodgers had to say goodbye to another player who left the Packers for possibly greener pastures- Davante Adams. Adams left to ply his trade at Las Vegas this season and Rodgers recently opened up about his relation with Adams and what transpired between them prior to the WRs move.

How did Davante’s move impact Aaron Rodgers?

Davante Adams’ move to the Las Vegas Raiders this season was one of the biggest deals in the NFL this year. Adams moved as the highest-paid WR in the NFL, alongside reuniting him with his college teammate QB Derek Carr.

Speaking of Adams’ move, Rodgers said that he knew of the WR’s decision to move but was still disappointed. He said, “I was in the conversation the whole time. We had many heart to hearts. Ultimately, he wanted to go to Las Vegas and asked me to help him get there… I love Davante so I was obviously disappointed. But I’m not gonna stand in his way as he pursues the next step in his career. I truly wish him well.”

He also added, “We had some honest conversations about my future here and how long I wanted to play. And his own thoughts about where he wanted to play, live and raise his family.”

What does Adams expect in Vegas?

While Adams is going to play for the first time with the Raiders, he is certainly not new to one player there- QB Derek Carr. Carr and Adams were teammates in college at Fresno State in 2012-13.

This is the first time both are playing professionally on the same team. So Adams may not have a lot of difficulty in adjusting to the environment. Robert Griffin III recently said in an interview that Carr and Adam’s chemistry would get better over time.

Adams was reportedly considering the move for the last five years but it only worked out now, said Derek Carr’s brother. The latter said that Derek had wanted to bring Davante to the Raiders for a long time.

While Rodgers was definitely disappointed with Adams’ move, he said Adams had the right to select where he wanted to ply his career and be with his family in the future.
